About

Sasha Wakelin

My name is Sasha Wakelin and I am a 3rd year BA (Hons) Fashion Design Student, graduating July 2017.

I have loved fashion since I was little, and I started my education in fashion when I was 15 by doing a Textiles GCSE. This strengthened my love for fashion and since then I have attended college and gained a Triple Merit grade for my BTEC National Diploma in Textiles with Fashion. After college, I studied for a year in Contour Fashion at De Montfort University; learning invaluable skills in lingerie design. After this, I went back to college to gain a Distinction grade for my Higher National Diploma in Textiles with Fashion. Through my work there, I was lucky enough to gain a place at the University of Bedfordshire, studying BA (Hons) Fashion Design for the final year.

During the last year, my love for corsetry and design has been cemented as my chosen career path and I would love to progress into bridal wear, hopefully leading to having my own couture bridal brand. Over the years, I have taught myself many different couture finishing techniques and believe that garments should be just as beautiful on the inside as out.
